On Thursday, April 25, Take Your Child to Work Day, we had the honor of participating in UL Solutions’ festivities. We were given the privilege of reaching almost 250 children, along with some adults! We spoke about the role of pollinators, their declining numbers, and what can be done to help the situation, as well as the unique life cycle of the monarch butterfly. UL provided the children with peat pots, a potting medium, and showy sunflower seeds. We worked with the children to pot the seeds which they could take home, watch germinate, and then plant outside. Hopefully, they will have years of joy from their sunflowers and many pollinators to watch!
