Monarchs, Milkweed, and More participated in the University of Illinois Extension Seed Expo on Feb. 10 in Round Lake Beach. We gave away between 700 and 800 packets of native seeds, including three varieties of milkweed. Aside from the seeds, we spread much enthusiasm and information on the importance of planting native gardens. Also, very importantly, we made sure people knew how to plant the seeds, as many have different germinating needs than typical annuals.
It was a successful, exciting event!
