The Seed Expo was such an amazing day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Martin Luther King Day, our day of service at the Northbrook Library was a busy one.  We packed about 1800 envelopes of seeds from our gardens (with the much-needed help from the wonderful young people from Rochelle Zell High School).  I gave some seeds to the kindergarteners when I spoke to them about butterflies; I pulled some seeds out to distribute at the Riverwoods Earth Day event.  Other than that, I came home with 8 packets of seeds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to Gloria, Sarah, Jennifer, Mardi, Sharon, and Terri for their tabling help and all the information they gave to people.\u00a0 A special thank you to Rachel who had signed up for the morning shift and stayed the entire day.\u00a0 A special thank you to Nancy who got their bright and early and had half the seed boxes filled by the time I got there.\u00a0 A special thank you to Robin who must have gone home with a backache from all the bending to get seeds to keep refilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take note of those wonderful boxes.  Thank you, Ellen, for the placards filled with information about the plants; many photos were taken of them by people taking the seeds.  A big thank you to Ellen’s husband, Jamie, who designed the stands for the placards and made wooden blocks to weight the boxes and hold the seeds in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
