On Thursday, April 25, Take Your Child to Work Day, we had the honor of participating in UL Solutions’ festivities.\u00a0 We were given the privilege\u00a0of reaching almost 250 children, along with some adults!\u00a0 We spoke about the role of pollinators, their declining numbers, and what can be done to help the situation,\u00a0as well as the unique life cycle of the monarch butterfly.\u00a0 UL provided the children with peat pots, a potting medium, and showy sunflower seeds.\u00a0 We worked with the children to pot the seeds which they could take home, watch germinate, and then plant outside.\u00a0 Hopefully, they will have years of joy from their sunflowers and many pollinators to watch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
